Previous Experiences

The International Conference on Postharvest and Quality Management of Horticultural Products of Interest for Tropical Regions was born in 2010 in a first version that was held in Costa Rica. His topics have always revolved around the management of perishable products of interest. Production in the tropics includes fundamental aspects, such as the continuous production of species of interest and further highlights emerging and little-known species in the tropical belt. This condition singles out production in these ecosystems and distinguishes the production of classic and traditional horticultural products. The conference has been in America and also in Asia and on the Island of Trinidad Tobago and even transcended the pandemic, with the V conference held in Toluca-Mx, in complete virtuality.
On this occasion, Colombia is holding the conference for the second time and today relevant topics such as biodiversity, bioeconomy and the circular economy will be part of the program. We hope that there will be sessions with a lot of participation, commercial displays and of course the presence of schools that throughout the tropical belt make enormous efforts to train human talent that impacts the reduction of post-harvest losses and technological development and innovation to achieve tropical products reach their commercialization overseas
